Department Chair, Keelan Kaiser, AIA, was recently interviewed by the Associated Baptist Press about the growing interest by faith-based organizations in developing green buildings. The role of environmental stewardship in the consideration of the built environment is central to the mission of the architecture program at Judson University, and is a function of the Christian worldview espoused by its faculty and administration. Our recent Harm Weber Center, is an exhemplary learning laboratory and one of only a few LEED certified architecture schools in the US. Architectural practice in the twenty-first century will be characterized by low-energy consuming construction, substantial adaptive reuse of existing buildng stock, and careful consideration of the built context and human habitation and settlement patterns. What an exciting time to study architecture!
