Lecture and Gallery Series 09/10

Students, alumni and the public are invited to attend the 2009-10 School of Art, Design and Architecture Lecture and Exhibition Series. On Friday, September 11, the lecture series opens with “destination AMS,” a lecture from Dutch urban designer and adjunct faculty member Yael Breimer on her urban design work and mapping of the city of Amsterdam.

The fall exhibitions begin on Monday, September 14, with student work from the annual European Study Tour for architecture students, this year to Italy and Greece. A reception will be held on Saturday, September 26.

The roster of lecturers for the fall also includes Chicago architect Robert Benson of 4240 Architecture on October 2, and Omaha-based author, curator and contemporary art critic Daniel Siedell on October 22. The fall lectures conclude on Friday, November 13, with a lecture and reception from Nashville artist Erin Anfinson, to accompany her exhibition, Confrontations, on display in the Draewell Galleryfrom October 19 through November 19.

All lectures begin at 4:30 p.m. in Herrick Chapel, and all exhibitions will be presented in the David J. and Betty M. Draewell Gallery in the Harm A. Weber Academic Center, on the Judson University campus in Elgin.
